European Council of International Schools International Teachers Certificate

Lehigh University (LU) is proud to announce a formal partnership with the European Council of International Schools (ECIS) and the International Teachers Certificate Program (ITC). In addition to the ITC, students will have the opportunity to earn a Teacher Leadership Post-Baccalaureate Certificate from Lehigh University. Once students complete the requirements for the LU certificate, they have the option to continue through Lehigh’s program to earn a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. The Stand Alone ITC Program timeline  (approximately 14 months)

1) The ITC Institute (an academic intensive workshop)

2) Continues with Virtual Learning (VLE)

  • Readings and resources
  • Portfolio development and completion
  • Discussion forums
  • Course supervision by team leader

3) Mentoring

ECIS  International Teacher Certificate with Lehigh University Credit:

The Lehigh University Teacher Leadership Post-Baccalaureate Certificate

Additional 6 Credits taken At Lehigh University in Pennsylvania offered each summer:

  • EdL 400 (3 credits)  Organizational Leadership: Theory & Practice
  • EdL 420 (3 credits)  Date Based Decision Making

The Process for Obtaining the Teacher Leadership Post-Baccalaureate Certificate:
Step 1: Register for ITC www.InternationalTeacherCertificate.com
Step 2: Apply to Lehigh University as a “degree seeking student” on our website at www.lehigh.edu/lbl. Admission requirements include a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale(see website for detailed requirements).
Step 3: Successfully complete the requirements for ITC and receive 9 Lehigh University credits
Step 4: Attend Lehigh University for 2 ½ weeks in the summer taking 2 courses
Step 5: Summer Ends: Students will be awarded the Post-baccalaureate Certificate in Teacher Leadership from Lehigh University

Option 1:  Students wishing to continue and complete their Master’s Degree:
Step 6: Through online and face-to-face coursework, students must take an additional 15 credits or 5 courses from Lehigh University
Option 2:  Students wishing to continue on for their Doctorate:
Step 7: Students will need to take GRE’s and formally apply or petition to enter into the Doctoral Program in International Educational Leadership.

Cost: The cost for taking the ITC Certificate for credit (9 credits) will be $2,000.00 payable to Lehigh University. You will be billed by the Office of International Programs once you have been officially accepted for admission and prior to the your mid-term assessment for ITC.

In order to complete your Post-Baccalaureate Certificate through Lehigh University additional courses will be required. These two Lehigh University courses will cost $ 1480.00 per course.

Students interested in pursuing their Master’s Degree program in Educational Leadership will be required to take an additional five courses.  These courses may be taken in summer at Bethlehem, PA or online.
